We lost our property yesterday. It really pains me that my collection of plants is no more. Looks like I am no longer a nanner-head. My 50 varieties were lost along with my other ultra rare plants.

People tell me I am young and have plenty of time to start over. What I achieved in the past 6 years was no walk in the park.

Everyday I learn a little more about self appreciation and of those around me.

3.5 weeks of sulfur dioxide fumes have affected my plants, but for the most part they're fine so far. 24 days of sulfur dioxide

You don't need to be growing bananas to be a nanahead... If you just wish you were, it's enough. Sorry to hear it.. For those who do not know... In Hawaii, unless it changed recently, when lava flows over your property, it's not yours anymore. You are left with nothing but the insurance, if you could afford it and can make them pay.

Varieties I supposedly bought: Manzano, Cavendish, Blue Java, Sweetheart, and Gros Michel.
What it seems I actually have: Brazilian, Cavendish, Namwah, Dwarf Red, Gros Michel, Pisang Ceylon, Veinte Cohol and SH 3640, and American Goldfinger. FHIA 1, Paggi and FHIA 17... Always room for one more.

Not true. You still own the land. Nobody pays for lava insurance.
