It seems to me that variegated Musa basjoos do exist. That's a very low price for one though, so I'm suspicious initially. To my knowledge variegated banana plants usually carry a hefty price tag. As for the sumatrana, I'm not sure. They already have nice red coloration to begin with.
I took a look at this guy's profile and he seems to be pretty well-established on eBay. Lots of positive feedback, but not very many sales. Given the price though, if a variegated Basjoo interests you, I'd say maybe give it a shot.
