variegated banana characteristics
hello I was wanting to see what type of variegated bananas exist. I am familiar with Ae Ae, but not familiar with others. I am particularly interested in size descriptions as well as sun tolerances, typical pricing, growth requirements, and appearance differences.
I am located in Sarasota, Fl and the sun is really hot during the summer. Many thanks. |

Re: variegated banana characteristics
I think there is a cultivar with the name 'Florida' that resembles an Ae Ae, but has more pointed fruit, and I think the border of the leaves has more pink/red color. I believe that it may have come from Thailand.
Other members have posted photos of various variegated bananas from time to time. I think I've seen photos of a variegated Dwarf Cavendish, Namwah, and a few others, too. Here is a link to some variegated types in the photo gallery: variegated bananas Last edited by Yug : 01-30-2013 at 04:04 PM. |
