Woohoo! The bloom is out! I peeked! I couldn’t help it! I saw only a couple fingers on the edge of the first hand... but they’re fused! She’s the real deal!!!!
Look at that color! |

That's a beautiful flower!
Looks like the bunch won't be that high off the ground either

A couple hands are out so I could get some pictures. It’s already a favorite with the local bee population

Re: Valor_X & Backyard Banana Joe - Who can fruit a Praying Hands pup first?
Banana "nectar" or "honey" actually tastes very good. Both male and female flowers have nectar. You have to fight the bees for it though. Riots over who has the right to the nectar can get rather fierce

Re: Valor_X & Backyard Banana Joe - Who can fruit a Praying Hands pup first?
Since it's the beginning of the month here's an update on mine. I'll also follow up next month.
The newest freshly opened surfboard is huge and actually slightly bigger than anything the taller Orinoco has put out so far. How big can Praying Hand leaves get? Anything bigger than these 6 footers is going to blow my mind It's main pup is becoming a monster and putting out it's own mini surfboards and getting in the way of the mother plant. It's girth is already getting close to the mother plant as well. Closeup of the main pup next to the mother plant The other pup is also nice and fat A wider shot showing Blue Java, 1000 Fingers, Praying Hands, Orinoco

TC -> 10ft in 2 months is unreal No doubt if I removed the pups from the mother plant mine would have blown up like that too. But now I'm expecting at least 2 bunches next year lol
