The use of a heat mat

I am trying something new and wanted to let you all know about it. I decided to pot up a dwarf orinoco that has 3 feet of trunk a little early this year. It has been stored bareroot in the garage all winter and looks great. So, I broke out the heat mat the other day and placed the potted one gallon dwarf orinoco on it. I'm hoping the warm heat mat will force it out of dormancy and let the roots get established early compared to directly planting it in the ground and waiting for soil temps to warm by mother nature. Has anyone tried this? If so, what was the result?

Put a temperature probe between the mat and the pot. Make sure it does not exceed 75 F. Put 1 TBSP of water soluble 20-5-30 or similar in a gallon of water and let it stand to room temperature. Then use water from this gallon sparingly to keep the corm from drying out.

1 yr ago I brought my IC out of bare root dormancy by just potting it up around early March. Just a LITTLE warm water to moisten & it woke up & put out a new leaf right away! Then, in May I planted in ground after it got used to direct sun. I waited a few weeks before I fert'd cuz I didn't want to shock it.
