*****AEAE Update!*****

The Beautiful, Royal and Majestic AEAE opened a bigger leaf!....She is approx. 7 ft. tall and keeps growing nicely!....Seems that AEAE it's pushing out and opening new leaves faster now!....AEAE picked up the growing pace!.....

I have observed (based on my experience) once AEAE reaches 6 ft. tall in height, at least, it starts to grow faster!....

Picture from 08/09/2018....

I'm sorry Max, but this one needs to be big!....Only this one!.....LOL!............It's just breathtaking every time AEAE opens a new bigger leaf!.....

Ae Ae looking great Hector, do you keep the compost around it moist, all the time, for good variegation.

Thank you Mushtaq!......Yes!....Compost it's maintained moist!......I added a lot of compost, organic stuff to the Nanas, specially to The AEAE!......

Lately, has been dropping a lot of banana nectar (rain) almost every afternoon in South Florida, so nature it's doing her thing naturally!.....Even reducing the water bill tremendously!...........I don't remember last time I irrigated the Nanas!.....LOL!....

*****An Update!*****

Woohooo!......Yeehaaa!......Finally!...... I acquired The FHIA-18 "Bonanza" Nana Variety!.......Thanks to the expert/very experienced Nana grower and a awesome guy Nick (Nick Naranjas)!.......I have been looking for this one long time!.....Thanks Nick for make it happen!.....I really appreciate it!......

Nick sent me a huge, very healthy FHIA-18 "Bonanza" corm/pup!.....As always, I followed the procedures of the prior transplanted Nanas!.....I washed the corm for half an hour in water with bleach, then transplanted to a big pot using only pool filter silica coarse sand!.....I will wait for the corm to get establish, then to the ground!.....

*****An Update!*****

Woohoo!.....Finally my SH-3640 High Noon Nana Gazebo it's flowering/blooming!.....LOL!.....Third crop/generation of SH-3640 mat is composed of 7 adult/mature plants, in which 2 of them are flowering/blooming right now!.....

I still laugh when I remembered that somebody mentioned to me that SH-3640 High Noon Nana Variety wasn't a heavy pupper!.....Remember, one of the breeding parents of the SH-3640 is the Dwarf Brazilian!......SH-3640 High Noon Nana is a very prolific Nana Variety!.......

All pictures from 08/27/2018......

First SH-3640 High Noon flowering/blooming right now with 8 hands bunch!.....Approx. 9 ft. tall!.....

Second SH-3640 High Noon flowering!.....A SH-3640 monster!......So far, this is the biggest, tallest SH-3640 High Noon Nana that I ever have/had!.....Approx. 10 ft. tall!.....

HMelendez,

Do you adjust your nutrient/fertilizer application after the plant puts up a flower or do you keep it consistent during the life of the plant?

Looking awesome! Thanks!

Hector,

Awesome post on your plant.

The plant looks healthy and the plant could do well as a container foliage plant in the north.

Why is it called High Noon?

Very similar to FHIA-1 Goldfinger and I bet to the FHIA-18 Bonanza too!.....SH-3640 resembles the Brazilian Nana in taste!.....Just a little bit creamier!.....

Thank you Akula!......I adjust the fertilizer (Urea/Potash) application accordingly but I keep consistently applying nutrients to the mats, amending the Nanas with coffee grounds, egg shells, fruit peelings, biochar (crushed wood charcoal), vegetable remainings/peelings, old Nana leaves, etc.......
