Joy Two more plants are fruiting

I got a bromeliad order and was potting up my 31 new bromeliads (another addiction) and I found two more dwarf Cavs flowering.
Here is an update from last months dwarf Cav plant flowering. I now have three dwarf Cavs fruiting.

Oh yeah, the bromeliad addiction...
I only have 195 varieties

I have the bromeliad addiction too Andrew. I knew there was someone else here, but I couldn't remember who it was! I've got a couple of group shots on another computer but can post these right now.

Very nice! Of course it started out with one. Now I have contacts with Royanne Shigii in Hilo, Paul Wingert in MI, Michael Kiehl in FL and other suppliers and hybridizers. At least these plants will be easy to take to Hawaii when I move!

That is an Aechmea chantinii. They come in several color forms (black, grey, yellow stripes). A great resource for bromeliad identification is Bromeliad Photo Index - FCBS

Another great banded bromeliad is Hannibal Lector and Norman Bates. O.k, stop laughing! That's their names. I will try to post some bromeiliad pictures. I planted a bunch today. I am finishing up my front yard. Video to come soon.
