Trouble uploading photos

Hi all,
I'm having trouble uploading images. Getting error.

Can I directly post an image in a post.

I used to use Photobucket but thats not an option now.

Can Google Photos be used to have the photo show up in a post rather than a link.

Pics need to be 2MB or smaller to upload to the gallery.

Thanks for the reply.
I resized my photo to just over 1mb, but it still wont upload.

This is the error message i'm getting:
