Hiya Trouble Posting Photos

I consider myself fairly computer literate, however, I can't seem to understand how to post a simple photo? Will someone be kind enough to explain to me in elementary terms how to do it? Thanks so much!

If you can't get them to load to your gallery they may be too large. They need to be 2MB or smaller.

It looks like the file size may have been increased to 5200Kb. i haven't tested an upload to verify the size limit. ... But previously the file had to be less than 2000Kb. ... i still recommend image file size should be in the 300 to 500 Kb for fast loading and fit on the web page. Use photo editing software to resize to 4" x 6" paper size at 150 to 250 dpi. ... It you need a photo editor Paint.net is easy and free.

Go to your forum control panel "User CP" then click on the 'upload photo' on the far right; and scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the listed file limits. i suggest keeping the file name short with no spaces and use jpg, jpeg, pnp, or gif file extensions with the image name. And NO spaces.

I think one of problems for most member new to uploading to this forum is the upload and the photo/image processing are two different operations. The upload usually will show as being 'successful' but the photo/image processor deletes the file because it does not meet the forum requirements and no notice is given for this fact.

I bought a new canon camera and can get pictures from it on the computer but cant get the pictures from that camera to transfer over to bananas.org, so I went to ebay and bought a camera like I had before because I could still get the photos from that camera to load up.

then I bought a new computer. hit me in the head with a shovel, please.

Most cameras use naming system that includes the date taken for the photos/images. The photo name for many older cameras by default saved the image as a tiff with the .tiff extension. But all cameras could be changed to save the images to other type files (jpg, gif, bmp & others). Most newer cameras now save images as a jpg by default.

So look at how the camera saves images and the name. Tiff names images can not be uploaded on this forum. So save the image as jpg type. And, make sure the name does not include a space. Spaces do not work in URLs on the web. Additionally if you do not need to print wall size (4 ft x 6 ft or bigger) photos you might want to reduce the image size stored by the camera to a size compatible with this forum and the internet in general. .... On a new computer just verify the image is being save with the correct name and no spaces.
