Water is not the problem. Dry conditions may have initially hurt (killed) the main pstem but since having pups has been watered when needed.
We will see what happens

I hade one that did like that, it had p-stem rot. It never grew another inch. I cut it to the ground and it threw 5-6 pups within days.

After seeing and thinking about this a bit, has anyone ever wrapped their p-stem with burlap or anything like that? I got to thinking about the heat and arid bananas in particular. They could be soaked in the morning to keep the humidity up for awhile, and would also protect it a bit from the sun. Worth a shot? Thoughts or comments?

i was reading throw this thread and was about to aske the same question Scot its funny how i alwas ask the same stuff when i put my Ice creams out this fall imgoing to spray the P stem with and anty desicant and rap them for the winter hopfully in the vary protected spot im going to put them in they will not frost back we dont get alot of frost. last year i think it only frosted about 3 times but with them right nexst to a stuco wall that im hoping will hold the heat i just know they are going to do grate now if we can get them to fruit and not croke in the summer heat like they almost did this year iv got them inside now and they are puting leafs on like craze i get so exsited to just wach them growing even if they never fruit im going to post some pics later today
