![]() One of them will be coming to me if it makes it through customs etc! And I can't wait! Jarred says it takes a couple of generations to get the really big bunches, but what a knockout - worth waiting for. I am going to plant it where it can be seen from the road, but not too close - exhibitionist or what!!! And I am going to feed that plant like there is no tomorrow.
Thanks for the pic - just adds to the torture really! Cassie Last edited by island cassie : 07-11-2008 at 12:50 AM. Reason: addition |

![]() Yeah, those are cool. I'd like to start collecting some of the odder types like that one, Pitogo, Praying Hands, etc. Unfortunately, I just don't have the room as I'm already growing 20 different types of bananas on about 1/4" acre, in addition to all of my other plants. If my Dw. Cavendish doesn't do well this year, I may replace it with one of those.

![]() Just going on what I have read here and at MGIS, I chose 1000 Fingers over Pitogo for fruit quality and taste, not to mention production! What is the experience of those growing both Pitogo and 1000 Fingers?

![]() I'd be happy to have either one. One one "hand" (yes, pun intended) 'Thousand Fingers' is just mind-blowing to look at, but on the other I really like the novelty of the rounded fruit of 'Pitogo'. I wouldn't turn down either one if anyone has one they'd like to trade for any of my pups. Feel free to check my profile for my list of bananas.

![]() Rmplmnz,
Don't forget about me if you ever get a spare pup of Pitogo! I think last time we spoke you didn't have any pups. That's OK, I'm patient! |

Pretty picture! What are those in the background? They look like Seņoritas. Are they? With Pitogo, when they are half ripe up to ripe stages, we usually just boil them. That way, they're easier to peel. It's all yellow, they're easier to peel as well, and we stick several of them in a barbecue stick, coat them lightly with brown sugar, and deep fry them - Voila! Banana-Cue! they are the perfect size for this. |

Right now I have very few pups (it was a tough winter)..but alas we are 5" above normal for YTD rainfall...so hopefully we will have pups a plenty and I can get some more corms your way (still holding your dwarf Brazilian). The rainfall is great...but I am a little nervous as the last time we had above average rainfall (2004) we had 8 hurricanes (that actually made landfall in Florida) in two years.
