I would like to know if it is a wild species founded in Thailand............or it is a man made variety............. I would like to know a kind of historic data about this species............ Links about this species are also welcome............... Some one knows the History of the Thousand Fingers Banana.........??? |

What zone is Sao Paulo in ? good luck with it! |
Re: Thounsand Fingers
I don´t know how zone is here...........
But São Paulo cuty have 1000 mts high...........from sea level........... Its not a subtropical zone........... But have few days of winter................. And the pup grows normally............and vigorous........... The winter her seems do not affect it............ I used to keep few other brazilian species that do not tolerate the winter here.......... But the Thousand Fingers..........even in its first year........are doing very well........ It seems to be cold resistent............... |
Re: Thounsand Fingers
You have a tremendous amount of cold hardy synthetics bananas available in your area.
There is a classified banana section in your area, I don't remember the website. The codes will help with the pedigree. PC, JV, SM & ST - common Prata (different accessions); PV - Pacovan; PA - Prata Anã; MC - Maçã; YB - Yangambi "There has also been interest in Prata Anã, a semidwarf form of yet unknown origin, but which has eating characteristics close to those of Prata. Nonetheless, it is apparently distinct in certain botanical characters." |
Re: Thounsand Fingers
Tanks for the infos..........
I removed all varieties from my house.............affraid that they could pass some disease to my new Thousand Finger........... I just want to develop Thousand Fingers......... The only species that I keep today is two mats of Dwarf Cavendish........that I like........ All my efforts now on bananas is to develop healthy Thousand Fingers.......... That´s why I´m digging a more specific information............. |
