Re: Thai verigated banana
Appears to be the same. I paid less than that for an AeAe from Kens Nursery. Coule be that the source is the same private collection.
And as for the price --- "if you wanna dance ---- ya gotta pay the fiddler." Last edited by bananimal : 05-01-2019 at 07:20 PM. |

Musa Balbisiana... Tanee or Basjoo perhaps. Both are beautiful plants to have in the landscape. Looks like their 'Wild Florida Swamp Banana" @139$ could be an Orinoco. Last edited by cincinnana : 05-02-2019 at 07:34 AM. Reason: typo |

Re: Thai verigated banana
Dan,
Congrats on your acquisition of the Musa AeAe!.....Finally you got it!.... Just my personal opinion!......Musa Variegated Tanee is a very beautiful Variegated Nana Variety, probably one of the most cold hardy Variegated Nana Varieties, but as Gabe mentioned, it's seeded!.....I only grow "eatable" Nana Varieties!.....Too bad!....

So is anyone else growing these or are they really that rare? Are they harder to grow than other bananas? Bananas seem to grow no problem here other than getting wind damage. Would hate to buy an expensive tree and not be able to grow it in CA. |
