Thai Superbum
I posted the pic Yesterday as some members noticed , thanks for the comments. Cassie it takes me only about ten minutes a day to water all the plants , being a Stay at Home Dad helps with keeping an eye on things and stopping problems as they happen.
One member asked awhile ago about the size of the Thai Superbum , I think it was Frank , so sorry for the delay with answering . The plant is about 4 1/2 feet tall and 6 feet wide at the moment . It was a small plant from Gabe in the Spring , great growth rate all season , but not I think it maybe about to flower . It's just a feeling at the moment , I'm not sure but I think the leaves are getting smaller and it's not just the change in season. I really hope I get seeds from the plant or I'll need to source anothe Thai Superbum for next year and they don't seem very easy to get. Later Steve

Re: Thai Superbum
Awesome looking plant, so big in that pot.
I wonder if they are self pollinating like Ensete ventricosum, and Ensete glaucum. I have a hunch that the other big seed Indian Ensete superbum is also self pollinating, and look forward to hearing if your Thai one is also. Nice one! |

Re: Thai Superbum
Wow, nice plant! I have one India form superbum growing in the greenhouse on campus. I think you may be noticing the leaves get a bit smaller because of the constraints of the pot. Hope so anyway. It shouldn't flower that early, but who knows. I have seen three Ensete ventricosum flower this year, only one year from seed. Thanks for posting, Steve.
