Default Texas/Louisiana Member Meet-Up

OK, so I've been kicking around the idea of having a little get together this fall for some of Texas and Louisiana members and I wanted to start this thread to get an idea of how many people would be interested in participating. Actually, this is open to anyone who would be interested in traveling here-not just TX and LA members. I'm thinking about sometime in October so that the temps will be more comfortable but I don't have an exact date yet. I'm in the Houston area, so figure your driving/flying time and give me a yell if you're interested. I'll start by putting my name at the top of the list here and we'll try to keep a running tally.

1.) Bananaman88 (Brent)
2.) CValentine (Cheryl)
3.) Buffy
4.) Steve L
5.) Ewitte
6.) Conjov
7) Lagniappe
8.) Southlatropical
9.) Bob
10.) Lonie

That's a great idea, I hope the European banana growers will unite one day and meet somewhere.
Good luck.

Shall list you as #2 then? It doesn't have to be definite at this point; I'm just trying to gauge interest.

How large is Texas? More than 50000miles2?
Brent, I'm sorry for derailing this thread, but it is for its own good. I wish that this thread remains always on the top of the "New posts" screen.

C'mon people, support Brent's idea. It's a nice one. Now you make it look like its date, only Brent and Cheryl.

I'm three and half hours out. I'm interested. I have a very messy fall coming up with a new baby and a new house arriving in October, so hard commitments are impossible. But I'd definitely be interested.

Sorry it took me so long to reply. I'm 'Orging mobile' from Memphis to Fordoche and while the kids can text faster than they speak I can only type a few words perminute with my big ol' micky mouse hands. We're looking forward to staying with one of two sets of aunts and uncles in the Houston area for that weekend. BTW ...whatever happened with the crawfish boil planned years back.

I would like to go, but it's hard to say I'll be there with 100% certainty. With the kids it's hard to know what will come up.

Isaac-I'll go ahead and put you down. You don't have to say "yes" for sure right now. We haven't picked a date yet and this may never happen. I'm in the early planning stages.

I know we have more that eight members in the TX/LA region. Anyone else interested? Again, if you want to attend, you don't have to be from this area if you don't mind the drive/flight! Everyone is welcome...even you Bob! I guess I need to start thinking about a specific date too. Hmmm.....
