Wooohooo awesome!!

if you make tostones with them you can fry or boil a few and mash them all together till you get enough. The Orinoco make excellent tostones. I love em.

In India they use under-filled fruit for all kinds of things. Even make a pickle out of them! I’ve never tried it. Just experiment. If you find something that works let us know! They can be very good!

The large fries were Orinoco quartered lengthwise. I've tried making tostones before. they were a little more work and the peeling hard to get off. The fries tasted just as good to me. The taste was more potato like & good.

The smaller fries were FHIA 18 fingers. These had a soft center may be hint of sweetness with an over tone of slight starchiness. Kind of neutral in my like or dislike. Both nanas were only seasoned with salt after frying may be other seasoning can bring out the flavor more. hummm, little honey, sugar, & salt next time ????

But I got a lot of the small fingers ....

Try it!

Right now under filled bananas are eaten all over the world as a vegetable!! Even have small markets in some areas!

Try it! I bet there are many ways they would taste good! I’m not a very creative cook. Or even a cook lol. I am good at eating though!!

well you don't have to cook to do a pickle jar. you go to the store and get a very large jar of pickles. I like the gallon jars and the pickles. eat or throw away the pickles. throw in your nanners and some peppers of your choice. throw it in the fridgedair and give it 2 or more months. the longer you wait the better the flavor.

that's how they do pickled eggs and sausage or olives or ocra or etc.

now you do not want to use straight vinegar or the juice from an olive jar. just pickles. you can keep a pickle jar for years putting in vegetables and occasionally adding pickle juice from other jars. I like to do breakfast sausage along with the vegetables but eventually the fat from the sausages makes it go stale.

word of caution:
the habaneros never after years in a pickle jar LOOSE THEIR HEAT.

ok, tytalor. I let this thread ferment like the shine I can cook. yep I am a cook. moonshine is 10,000 dollar fine for anything under a quart. anything over a quart is 10 years in the federal pen and a 10,000 dollar fine. even when it is mixed with water.
I said that the pickle jar was mine. YOUR BBQ GRILLS ARE ALSO MINE. I cooked ham jam bbq for many many years. I am also a Memphis in May ham jam judge. I can cook KC bbq which I love. I would rather call it texican bbq, I guess Kansas got in there first. my specialty is whole hog. I cook it North Carolina style. vinegar is the best for this.

now a gas grill is only good for 2 things. cooking a 1 inch steak and cooking a pizza. yep I said pizza.

one thing I know beer drinkers generally love [pickle juice].

I thought edwmax would jump with the pickling. guess not.

now I am going to let this thread ferment a little longer.

they say a picture is worth 10,000 words.

I tried to make this short and sweet. forgive me. walkinbum

Haha ... I've made pickles before and know how to. Too busy to try for now. At the moment I have Kimchi fermenting in the frig. ... 2nd thought I might just throw some of the nanar fingers into the kimchi jar.

Anyway, I cook and do BBQ. I don't know Texas or KC styles, so i do "MY STYLE" for which I get lots of compliments. ... I mostly like doing beef & briskets, for which I have been invited to cook in a locale/regional BBQ cook off. I wasn't interested & didn't have the time.

January 12th, I have to cook Brunswick stew & pulled pork for 60 people. You want to help??? i can get the beer, then we can sit back and watch the Butts burn.

That is true. But I'm in an area of Georgia that farmers still measure corn yield in gallons per acre.

missed this one edwmax. sorry

would love to come cook with you, always into finding something new. look up the bbq pit boys on you tube. they will make you hungry on a full stomach. but don't believe their times [their LYING]. they cook completion bbq and don't reveal their true times.

I opened up my pickle jar new years eve to share with some friends.

pickled breakfast sausages. put in some olives to see what they tasted like, I don't recommend it. this pickle jar has been waiting for 4 months.

new pickle jar will have breakfast sausages and eggs to name a few.
