![]() This is the Grand Nain pup I recieved from Southern-Grower a while back. It was doing great and even pushing a new leaf when suddenly the P-stem rotted about half up. I had only watered once and that was when I potted it so I couldn't understand what had happened. Well I gave up on it but never threw it out. That was about 3 weeks ago. Today I noticed a small green bump potruding from the rotted P-stem, so I started removing the rotten stuff and find a new leaf inside trying to make it's way out. An hour later and it had opened revealing another leaf inside! It's just amazing how tough these plants are.

![]() One must almost never give up on the mighty banana and don't be afraid to cut. Anyone who has grown them for a while knows that if the leaves are not coming out properly, you better get in their and give them some relief with a knife. Also, keep anything rotten removed.

![]() The Grand Nain I got from SouthernGrower needed some coaxing...
Just like you said, Mike. Had to get in there and cut away some unfurled leaves, shred back the p-stem a bit, and it's back to pushing leaves as intended.

![]() Did anyone have any luck with pups from Marc? I got two from him that didn't make it. They just sit there looking rotted. Maybe they will make a comeback too!

![]() I got a Red Iholene and a Mysore from him.
The Mysore needed surgery as the top rotted and it started pushing a leaf out the side. I cut it off and now that leaf opened and it appears to be doing fine with another leaf opening up. The Red Iholene did just like yours. Looked OK for a week then I went out one morning and it was rotted off and laying on the ground. I do have to say the plants looked fine when they arrived. Oh well - so I ordered a Red Iholene from BananaPlantarion.biz and instead of a 8-10 inch plant for $5, I got a 4 foot plant for $10. WELL worth the extra $5 Terry |
