Supports for fruit on tall trees

Help!
Now that we are doing the right things to get our nanners to fruit - "How do we support the fruit once it's up there?" These trees are 12-14 feet high.

Do you have any PVC pipe handy?
I suggest getting some pipe, a pipe cutter, some elbows, and some tees.
With those, you can easily fashion stilts to hold the plant up.
I'll take some pics soon and reply with them

Use 2" PVC, two "Tees" on the top of the legs, and a 45 degree elbow in between (all connected with short pieces of pipe). The elbow forms a saddle, and allows the legs to splay for good side to side stability. Run a wire through the tees and elbow and wrap around the stem,. This keeps the prop from falling out when the tree sways in the wind. Prop under the very highest point where the stem curves over and heads down toward the bunch of fruit.

I have used 2"X4" with a T on top and 4" X 4".

Great pic Jarred,

And by using couplings and several pieces of pipe for the long support, you can adjust it's length to accommodate any height pseudostem.

By the way, my Red Iholene that I gave you the pup from, just put out a bloom as did my Ice Cream.

Now to go to Home Depot and get PVC.

Yes and it's not held together with glue for that very reason.
They're just stuck together with friction.

Congrats on your blooms.

That one you gave me is doing great. I relocated it once and so I slowed down it's growth, but it's chugging along. Thanks again!

Now I have a Kru that just put up a bloom.
