Default Sun/Partial Shade or Shade for a Newly Topped Banana?

Today I unfortunately had to top (cut off the top) of one of my bananas because I noticed that it was starting to rot all up and down the stem. I suspect that it may have rotted because it was in the shade (not sure though). From this point forward I want to make sure I have it in the right location to get the proper amount of sun and shade. With a newly topped banana (roots are fairly vigorous) should I keep this plant in the shade, partial shade or full sun to encourage the stem to grow back?

As much light as you can give it without direct sun

I was having the same problem and the direct sun was so hot that most of the leafs were been burn literally. In Texas the temperature can rise to about 110 or more in June/July/Aug today is not bad and it is going to be 105. In top of that add the fact that the Sunrise at 6:30 am and Sunset at 8:39 pm i am not a mathematician but I think that add up to about 14 hours a day.

What I did was simple, I bough some Sun Screen Shade Cloth from Home Depot and made a square around my plants with 2X4's and put the cloth over it. The cloth is not to block the sun because is semi transparent but it can reduce the temperature to about 5 to 10 degrees less, not bad.

I am going to take a picture of my shade area and will post it here in a few minutes so you see how it looks. People actually use that cloth in nursery's to avoid plants over heating (See picture below).

Here is how mine actually look like. Not a monumental engineering achievement but it works for me.
