Default Strange pup

I have growing from a Dwarf Orinoco two pups of approximately the same size -14". One has pointed leaves and the other normally formed leaves. What is the distinction?

Sounds like one is what is known as a sword pup and the other an umbrella pup. I think there are some diagrams showing this in the Photo Gallery section, click on Banana Diagrams. Some say that one is better than the other for use as estabishing new plants. I can't remember which, and personally, I've never really noticed any difference in one doing better than the other.

some say its better to use the sword pups to propagate nanas with. some say that the water pups arent fit to grow. i havent had a water pup grow yet. they say that the water pup is weaker then the sword.
