I don't know if anyone remembers my post about my basjoo's haveing weird spots on there leaves but I finally got some pictures.

Basjoo 1

Basjoo 1

And this is another basjoo that doesnt have the spots but as you can see has some weird discoloration or something going on.

Basjoo 2

Basjoo 1 was overwintered in the ground. Basjoo 2 was planted out in the spring.

Anyone have any ideas?

It could be a few things, Pesticide drift from a nearby farm, lawn fertilizer with weed killer, acid rain, water droplets on the leaves in full sun causing small burns - any number of things. Have any kids nearby? The strangest things can happen, that the kids never intended or knew about. Of course, when questioned, most will just say, "I don't know." lol

Our lawn was sprayed in the spring. The kind where the people come out and do it. Was sprayed twice one was I think fert and another was for weeds I believe. We didn't have any dandy lions anyway. I have suspected it for a while but was still wondering if anyone had any other possible ideas. Such as PH or acidic or anything like that.

Mine do that early in the spring, when i first take them out. They seem to grow out of it as the weather warms. I always thought it was a combination of dew and cool nights.

Most of my Basjoo's get spots on them. I don't know what they are, but it doesn't seem to hurt the plant.
