![]() I recently returned from my year long deployment in the Middle East and much to my chagrin, I have to start over with my bananas.
I had about 17 or 18 in the back yard during the summer before I left and I groomed them meticulously and watered them lovingly. I loved being able to sit in my chair on the back porch and look out on a little piece of tropical heaven. When I left, I asked a buddy of mine to help my kids put them under the house for the winter. I asked the kids just to care for them until it was hibernation time. They didn't have to dote over them, but to look after them in case of drought, etc. When I arrived home, only 2 remained. Ok...I can rebuilt with those and transplant the pups in the summer of 2012 But neither made it through the winter. So, now I have to start over. I look at it as a good challenge though. |
