Default Starter Bananas

Hello banana lovers!
I was wondering how people feel about banana 72 pk plugs? Mostly how long they take to start growing into good sized plants. My reasoning on this is, people around my neighborhood have enjoyed my plants and have started asking questions. I could easily send them to the only nursery that sells hardy bananas, but the prices are 70$ for semi mature 3' plants.

I would like to offer them a nice starter plant for cheap money. Most of these people are my friends so I don't want to get there hopes up if the bananas don't grow much the first year.

Temperature from now through summer are usually warm and humid.

I'll be driving my grandmother back home from her daughters house in Daytona Beach. This would give me access to seven hundred miles of basjoo growers if anyone thinks I can do better along the 95 belt. I'll be willing to travel a bit for large order deal.

Thanks everyone

This is just to show the rate of growth of banana plugs here in the dark and rainy Seattle area (they were inside the house, though. And with artificial lighting). They looked like this when they arrived on Jan. 27, 2009:

Three weeks ago, here is how they looked (taken outside, during one of the few sunny days in Seattle this year):

As a gauge, in the early photo, the plants were in 1-1/4" mini-pots (plugs). In the later photo, the plants are in 2-1/4" pots. I'm sure if these were grown in warmer, brighter areas of the country, these plants would be much bigger than they are now.

Dave, this is what I was going to order. 18 Basjoo's, 18 Raja Puri's, 18 Ensete Maurelli's, and 18 Musella Lasiocarpa. Mid June is the estimated arrival time. Some of these must interest you since I'm pretty sure everything but the Maurelli will overwinter outside with protection. The Maurelli's are easy enough to store for the winter though. Let me know what your thinking.

Ok, those all sound good
I would be very happy to split the shipping cost with you
I'm not sure how many you want to keep or may be splitting with other people?
I would be interested in as little as 2-4 of each & up to 9 of each if you want to split the order
Let me know
Thanks!!
