Some pics
Hello.
2 Days ago I went out and took some pictures. Everything in the first album was planted this June. The sikkimensis sure must like the rain here in Bergen! http://community.webshots.com/user/mrbungalow

Re: Some pics
nice!
Great location for those. What is your hardiness zone (do you have to move for the winter?) Our house faces more or less south. but there are big bushes out there I dont think I could get out if I tried! |

Re: Some pics
Very nice pics. You live in one of the mildest areas of Norway, I know. Also I know Soer Hidle. Also Heligoland, the red island in the North Sea, has the winter mildest area of Germany, USDA zone 9a. You also live in USDA zone 9a, I believe that. You also have the similar possiblities to outplant the same exotics like on Heligoland.
One friend, he is biologist and scientist, and I initated one palm project on Heligoland, more look at http://www.helgopalmen.com (German and English version), it runs since 2003. Even one Aloe arborescens has already survived 2 winters without winterprotection and bloomed every year on Heligoland! I self have also bananas in my garden, I will make photos in the next days and will open one gallery here and will show them you then. Happy banana growing Joachim |
