![]() I went to a Mexican market the other day and bought a hand of "red bananas". The fruit were 3-4 inches long and reddish brown in color. They were sweet and smooth in texture. Any idea what they were?

![]() The most common names for the cultivar are 'Dwarf Red', 'Jamaican Red' and 'Cuban Red'. It is very common and there are lots of other names too.

![]() I will try to post a picture of he next hand. I went Sunday to buy more but they were out. They were so good that I did not get a picture of them. I would love to be able to grow them here.
The lady I bought them from said they were "Red Bananas". LOL

![]() I had something similar a short while ago, they were more black then red, from a place that has a lot of ethnic y stuff from all over the globe, When I asked the guy he said they were Cuban red. They were gone when I went back for more. Little sweeties compared to what we get mostly.
