![]() There are hundreds of varieties of small fruited bananas. What is best depends on your tastes and what will do well with your growing conditions -- and what is available to you.

![]() Looks a lot like Pisang Mas, but again, there are lots of small bananas that look very similar. Is this one very sweet, soft, and fragrant, with no tartness? If so, it could be Pisang Mas.

![]() You might be interested in growing a Namwah type, depending on your conditions. Namwah varieties are extremely cold hardy for an edible. They do have tartness, but they are also very sweet. The amount of tartness depends on the ripeness. I like them a lot. The fruit are larger than Pisang Mas/Sucrier though and they are oftentimes corky in the center. From the wiki:

![]() I grow Pisang Klotek, but I just planted it this year and it has yet to fruit. Several other members from the Org around me grow it and have harvested, ask momoese on that one. I like the flavor of Namwah more and the texture of Pisang Mas/Sucrier more. Other small varieties include Manzano, Brazilian, Raja Puri, and bananas in the Red subgroup.

![]() Pisang Ceylon produces essentially the same as Pisang Klotek. So does Mysore. I'm growing all three. But you don't want to get Mysore because there's a chance it could get BSV like mine, and that could spread to your other plants.

And yes, BSV is a banana disease that Mysore can get when it's stressed. It causes leaf streaking, abnormal growth, and reduced fruit yields. If you have citrus mealybugs in your area, it can spread to other plants.
