![]() I have a Sikkimensis Red Tiger that pups like mad. It won't grow any bigger than 18" high before the stem slows down, and then begins pupping again. The pot is about 12" across and there is about 20 small plants. It's growth habit reminds me more of a ginger plant than banana. Has anyone ever seen this in a Sikki before?

![]() They sound like water suckers, not good as planting material. These are sometimes induced from stress. I would say it wants a larger pot to grow in.

![]() I would agree with that except the pot part. It has plenty of room since the roots have not filled much of the pot yet. The leaves on the older stems do look rather tired, almost like they have been burnt from overfertilization. It has continued this habit for over a year now, through different planting mediums, locations, etc. The pseudostems are a bit unusual. They are more oblong than round like most bananas. Have you ever seen this?
Thanks! |
