This is a set of twins from a mahoi:

This is what I call my traveler banana because it looks like a traveler palm.

Hope that Helps.

I wish I could get them all to grow like that, maybe I could make some money.
The truth be told it is a "wanttabe" traveler that is really a Mahoi.

Paula, On my Ice cream, I noticed that the last leaf before a flag has a reddish mid-rib. I now keep an eye out for them.

Banana Gallery - Ice Cream...signal leaf?

This the Ice Cream now!

Thanks I have one ic but this only the second year maybe next year I will
see a bloom. I have others still no id on them . That is why I was asking.
I was hoping they wouldn't bloom this year because now it to late in the
season, but if they wait till next summer they probably won't have many leaves
on them when they do bloom. This is my third year with them. Thanks

I think my Ice cream might be getting there based on your observations. The last full leaf has a pinkish mid rib that none of the others do and the"cigar" leaf(also full sized) on top's back of mid rib looks to be even redder. The pics didn't come out due to the sun. The other clue is that the base is extremely swollen and has started to split from the corm about 2 1/2 ft up.

Could this be a sign of impending flower? It would just figure it comes at the end of August!

Repot. Quickly. If a flower bud is to emerge, give it more soil! Woohoo.

Question Re: sign's of a flag

It's in the ground. That little ring around it is lanscape edging to keep the water near the corm. Do you think I should pot it up now? It is going to be moved to rented greenhouse space in October.
