Default Siam Ruby score

I was at a local sale today and found a very very nice very colored up over 3 ft tall Siam Ruby...for $10.

I decided to get a second one and see if this one kept its color better than my other one (which IS coloring up again...slowly...now that Spring is finally here)

I will post a photo of the new one later, tired, must sleep.......zzzzzzzzz

Lilith,
I think it will retain it's color if you keep it in the sun. I never had any problem with mine losing it's color last year. It's sort of like 'Black Magic' elephant ears; in the shade it reverts to a more greenish color, it needs the sun to bring out it's most luxurient colors. I suspect that 'Siam Ruby' is the same.

Mine greened up over winter too, but now that we're getting more light, it's becoming red again. So Siam ruby would not be good as a houseplant unless you had crazy strong light on it, because you'd never see the red, actually.
