Pete and I were chatting and neither one of us could recall anybody talking about or showing us a Siam Ruby in bloom. Some were pretty big by late last year so they should have flowered by now. Do these things even flower???

Excellent question Harvey. I was at Stokes Tropicals a month ago and they had a huge pot of the Siam Ruby. It was 8 feet tall. It was grown from one of their tissue culture plants and took off like none of their other ones. I talk to them once a week about various things and always ask if it has flowered. So far, the answer has been no but they are going to take pictures when it does and I am going to post them here if no one flowers it before they do. Sondra Stokes told me a person near New Iberia, La flowered it but never sent pictures to them. No description was provided. This particular pot of Siam Ruby has been grown in their greenhouse since they recieved it. None of the other ones received at the same time are even close in size to this particular one.

I'm looking out for the same thing. I have a contact in SoFL that has been growing it for awhile and he says it should be flowering any time now, he knows bananas very well and is going to provide full detail of the flowering.
