Here's a Manini I harvested today.

Looks more beautiful without the variegated leaves.

It's still cool producing new varieties.
It's important to understand that seeds from an a'ea'e fruit do not produce a'ea'e plants, similarly to the seed that produced the original a'ea'e plant did not come from an a'ea'e fruit. Every seedling will be a new variety.

I'll post more photos as they sprout.

I love the variation of colour in these leaves and will watch your thread with interest!! Wish I could get hold of some variegated seeds in the UK, plant prices over here are way over my budget.

Here's a photo I received from a client in Colorado.

It's a variegated acuminata seedling.

I had set aside about 150 variegated acuminata seeds for them but changed my mind after reading the last message they sent me.

"Oh. That sucks. I really liked your seeds. Well if you canít sell to me anymore then can you take down my pictures of the seeds I grew and no longer use them on your social media or sales posts. Iím very sad that you canít even spare just 20-40 seeds for me since Iím a longtime customer that shares pictures for nothing in return😢"

I don't ship to the UK but if you have someone in the USA that will receive the package and forward it to you then I'll send those seeds to you for free, just pay the US postage.

I'm not too familiar with the process of growing bananas from seed. If the seedling survives to produce a bunch how often does a cross make seedless fruit?

Perhaps I'm mistaken but it's pretty common that the seeds will go on to make seeded fruit, correct?

My interest is in developing new variegated varieties and being seeded or seedless isn't a concern but if you're interested in that I would recommend to start by reading about the banana cultivars you grow in your yard. Start with ones that were produced by seed with the SH-3393 being the pollen source. A lot of the information about the projects is readily available online, number of plants pollinated, number of seeds produced, germination rates, and the number of new seedless varieties developed.
