Default SDC too small for pups????

I have recently purchased a SDC and it is a little more than 8" tall and about 0.75" across at the base. I would like to know if should allow the pups it has at the base to grow? Right now they are about 0.25" tall, one on each side of the main plant. I can post a pic if needed. Thanks

If you are close to fruiting, I'd say take out all but the oldest one, If not, leave them unless pot space is a problem, it should do fine with the pups. Just wait till they are about 3/4 the height of mama and split them leaving just 1 attached.

If it is only 8" tall, I would let them be. They are dwarfs, too so it shouldn't be a problem.

Scot, you're back!!!!
Welcome home
If it's only 8" tall, how can it be close to fruiting?

To clear things up a bit, I will include some photos....

This is an overall plant shot, it is almost 10" now and seems to be producing a new leaf in about 1.5-2 weeks. If you look on top of the AC unit in the background, you can see my Agristarts order.

This is a shot of the pups the one on the right is the larger of the two the left one is hard to see in the shadow.

This photo brings up a new question for me. Is the coloration normal for an SDC? I am assuming that the redish areas will fade as the leaf grows. This is the newest leaf.

thank you all for your input.

Yeah, I kinda had the same question about my SDC a few months ago. Apparently they like to send out pups at such a young age, cause mine sent several out. I was told to leave them, that they won't affect the growth of the main plant.

It's an SDC all right (reddish coloration on p-stem). The leaves coloration (reddish spots) is a matter of genetics, they occur on juvenile plants and will disappear before reaching maturity. It's perfectly normal. I have my SDCs in about 50 Litres pots, each of them is an older plant with 2 offshots. Should any other offshot emerge, I cut it off to a separate pot. The larger the amount of plants a pot, the slower the plants will grow and the sooner they will deplete minerals from the soil.
In containers, the amount of nutritions is important.

They shoot at very young age. Some of mine were shooting so early, that the pups they made were soon higher, bigger and larger than the original plants.
