Default Royal Hawaiian AeAe

Royal Hawaiian AeAe
Here are the pics of My Ae Ae s. Two of them planted in a 25-gallon container and one planted on the ground in full sun. They were planted in November 2011.

They kind of muted all winter. I think now they just started to take off.
Thank you, Frank (Greenie) for the pups and instructions.

I fertilize my ae ae on the ground with home made compost and some dark topsoil. After few days I flooded it with water. Now the new leaves are coming out with more green. Very little white in it. They gray variegation blended with green, so it’s hard to see.

I will post some pics soon

What should I do to get the variegation back?

Can I try ash or palm fertilizer?

Pic from June 12

June17
Fertilized with compost and flooded with water-Only for the plant in the ground. That’s how I normally treat all my bananas.

June 29
Growing really fast but less variegation on the new leaves for the plant on the ground.

After searching on this forum about lost variegation of ae ae, I apply some 24-8-16.
I think that or some minor elements in that fertilizer helps to bring back the variegation.
But there isn’t any white variegation. White turns in to a cream or off-white color.

Those are just awesome! I wonder how well they'd grow indoors over winter in zone 6 without optimal lighting? Man, coolest banana plants I've seen yet. Thanks for the photos.
