rooting a pup
Could I root a basjoo pup that has no or not many roots in water?

You could root it with rooting powder or not; then by putting it in dirt (just like planting it) and putting a clear bag around the pot and plant. :^)

I have never heard of bananas in water rooting....
I would worry about rot. Maybe with some oxygen in the water.. I rooted a pup this year with ZERO roots and very little corm...directly in ground/ full sun. Good luck

Ok in the spring i i took a praying hands pup form its mother there was no roots at all i planted it in a banana bed water it every day it took a few weeks to get started now it has 6 new leaves.
