Just glanced at my French Plantain and was shocked to see the first finger turning yellow. This plant flowered on 12th November and I was waiting for the very skinny fingers to fatten up. This is the first bunch for me - are plantains normally this fast? Pictures later when I get back from picking up at the airport.

OK - that must have been a rogue finger as the rest are still green and starting to plump up - I thought I was having a funny turn!! Sorry about the lack of photos but the yellow finger fell off the bunch!! Tasted ok'ish.

Patty, Revo - this finger yellowed up like the rest of the bunch was going to follow, but they didn't! This is the first fruit from this plant which was a rescue washed up in the brackish lagoon so we didn't know what it would be. The rest of the bunch are green and plumping up so they will probably take the usual time to mature. I was just shocked to see a yellow finger!
