Default Red spots?

My in ground and overwintered basjoo has some red spots on its leaves. It seams to be growing alot slower then it should. The spots appear after the leaves unfurl. Older leaves are the worst.

They start out as just little red spots that get bigger then eventually turn black.

I meant to get a picture but now its dark so ill have to get one tomorrow. My ornata that was inside over winter in a pot also has a little bit of this on it but much less. A basjoo I had inside over winter then planted in the same general location doesn't have any of this.

Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

Do they look like rust spots? Are they present on any other plants near you?

A little. They are a little redder then rust and are for the most part round. Not really on any other plants asside from a very small amount on a potted ornata. Its really about the only thing that was in the ground over winter.

Although there aren't many photos, this site has some useful info on banana affectations via fungal, bacterial or viral pathogens. I suggest scrolling down to "leaf spot" section as a start. Here's the link:
Diseases of Banana and Plantain (Musa spp.)
You may have to dig a bit, but the first thing I would suggest is quarantining your affected plants from the healthy ones to avoid spreading whatever is causing this. Perhaps sanitizing the area where they have been will help prevent spreading the unknown.

Sorry I haven't gotten pictures. Just haven't had the chance. Anyway it seams the spots aren't appearing on the newest leaves so hopefully its done with whatever it was.
