Nice pics, Jarred! Is it a cultivar of laterita/ornata?

Really don't know. It came from Agristarts, and it's somewhat new, so not a lot of people have them yet. They list them under their regular Musa category, not under the new ornamental flowering Musa category.
I think these might be an edible but we will have to wait a few weeks and see.
I went in on a partial tray with JeffreyP last year (well not really in on them as I got mine after he got the tray), but Jeff also thought at the time that these might turn out to be an edible.
Maybe Gabe knows something about them... lol

But now that I know at what height it blooms at (we were even guessing it might be an 8 footer), I'll dig up the others I have and plant them much closer together, and alongside this little mat that's going.

it looks to be a Rhodochlamys type or perhaps a Eumusa X Rhodochlamys but looks very unlikely to be edible. keep posting pictures though, I have not seen it bloom yet.

Great pics Jarred , how long did it take to flower from TC ?
Up for a pup if you have one at dome point.
I'm thinking od getting some stuff from Agri-Starts come spring , I'd like to experiment with growing TC plants on.
Later
Steve

About a year - year and a half to flower from TC.

This particular plant has one pup, not very vigorous if you ask me.

But I will definately put you down for one. I still have about 5 other plants from that initial batch of TCs that I got that have not moved very much, but like I said, I will plant them where this one is planted and see if they shoot up. Some plants dont do good in some parts of my yard...

I could set you up with one of those year old but still small TCs that I have now if you want...

It looks very velutina like, it seems most likely a hybrid involving velutina.

I agree with Gabe, the coloring reminds me of M. velutina. I am working on several ornata X ornata and ornata X velutina crosses.
