Receiving help from an unlikely source!!!
I'm struggling with which P-stems to protect this Winter. I have too many and not enough time and money to protect all. Well as I was in the graden today one of my larger Orinocos let me know by throwing out a bloom. Take him off the list. I'm guessing it was about ten feet tall and I was hoping it would be the first to bloom next year. I thought the cooler temps had stopped most growth. Guess not!!!

Great news (I guess?).

Re: Receiving help from an unlikely source!!!
Let's hope that this winter will be as warm, as it seems to be in the beginning. That way you might even save the bloom. As for which P-stems to choose, I'm unsure. The bigger the plant and the better it is established, the bigger chance of going through your mild Florida winter. So I would probably care for the medium-sized plants, not the smallest and the tallest p-stems.
