Default Rajapuri

Today I plant this Rajapuri banana plant right beside my dwarf namwah. I dig a big hole and removed all sandy marl soil and filled with dark top soil. I potted this pup in late January. I got the pup from Terry..Thank you terry for the deal.

Wow, that's some dark soil. You wrote that it's "top soil" and around here that usually means that it's soil taken from elsewhere and brought to your site but it's so dark that I wonder if it's a compost material. Also, I'm not familiar with the term "marl". What does that mean?

Good-looking plant!

Yes I purchased about 2 yards of that soil. I am sure it has lot of composted plant material and very little sand. look at my dwarf namwah thred you will see my soil. Dwarf Namwah

Marl - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Marl soil, how to improve it?

I am not sure my soil is marl, but its full of sand and shell. So I going to need lots of that dark top soil.

You probably have fill soil which is sometimes classed as Matlacha, neutral to alkaline reaction with lots of shell fragments. Sometimes there is a considerable amount of calcine clay in it. It's awful soil to try to grow anything in.
