From my experience with these kind ,they do not over winter very good and I have also had a few that when i potted them up into a bigger pot they died they seem to not like being disturbed to much, and also iin the house for the winter they will get stem rot really easy,,were the stem will turn brownish black get smushy and die???not sure why! The best I can say is put them in a very well lit window watch for spider mites and keep them on the DRY SIDE and occasionally water them with a fungicide!! Hope this was helpful!

I also found siam ruby a little difficult. Not as hard as Jason did, because I kept mine alive! It needed warmer temps, keep away from drafts, very dry, bright light. Very little fertilizer, only like 50 ppm in the winter, every other watering which meant like once or twice all winter....

50PPM, excuse my ignorance, but what is that? Did you leaves signal to you that conditions were to dry? I have been able to keep pups of other banana types alive in my office ove the winter, please see my gallery and let me know if your growing conditions are similar?
