Questions regarding AeAe banana
Hi all, I am picking up an AeAe banana this week. The seller also has a larger AeAe for sale from the same mother plant. He says this larger AeAe was variegated when it was smaller but has now lost it's variegation. What causes this? Can the variegation be brought back? I think I read somewhere that this can be caused by PH or fertilizer but I can't find the info. I was hoping some of you smarter folks know!:ha:

Re: Questions regarding AeAe banana
The only time I have seen this happen to mine is when the growth point dies and it looks like it’s growing back but in fact it reset and another growth point is growing in its place!
I know fertilizer effects them but not that extreme. It will make the white brighter or back to a cream color. I have never had an AEAE say 5’ tall just one day start making green leaves. Musa can do strange things but I’ve never seen it happen! Good luck! Hope you get a good one! They are beautiful plants! |

Thanks for the advice guys. One more question. Can this all green AeAe produce variegated pups? Does it carry the variegated trait even though it's not variegated?
