Quadruple Mahoi

Last year I post a picture of my first generation Mahoi with a single bunch, but after planting a couple of pups in a better location of my farm, the second generation of that same plant was somehow forgotten and somewhat neglected. To my surprise it gave me quadruplets. The undernourished mother split down the middle giving tiny triplets close to the ground and a single bunch thought the top.

That is so neat! So after this blooms it doesn't die? It blooms again? Or is this a pup?

Musa Mahoi is a Cavendish family member that produces double bunches of banana in one fruiting. Sometimes, it may only produce one bunch, though it is not uncommon for them to produce more than two bunches in one fruiting, as in this case.

After fruiting, as with other bananas, it will die, though by this time, it will have produced new pups. If you look at the picture of the plant posted by Harvey, you will note that the bunches of bananas are on the same pseudo-stem. And it has produced pups around the p-stem.

Chong is right and most of the time all bunches come out of the top of the pseudo stem but in this case, probably because I did not feed the plant like it deserved, the thing split and gave bunches below average size.
If I don't transplant the big sword pup behind it, next year I will probably have another double or who knows what.
