![]() I'm not so sure that they're weeds but they're not bananas and they're certainly not cannas either. Musa Basjoo pups first leaves are slender and pointed and tend to come out and curl over, they don't hold a wrapped spiral like those new shoots are doing.
I have two varieties of cannas and both of those have shoots that hold a tight pointed shape, even the leaves hold a tight wrapped point and then they unfurl. It's hard to explain but they just don't look like THAT, not at all.
