Pull em ?

2 years ago I planted 3 fhia-1's in one gallon cans. Last year I planted a saba pup. I now have 1 fhia-1 that's 3' tall, a saba that's 8' tall and 2 fhia-1's that still look like they were freshly planted. Barely 12"
Should I give them another season? Or cut my losses and yank them? I just did my trimming and they are pushing like a normal plant. I just don't want to keep wasting time

Are these still in 1 gal cans/pots??? They need to be in 25 gal tubs or bigger; in-ground is best.

All of them have been planted in the ground. This is why I'm confused about no real growth in 2 years

fhia-1 Goldfinger American (agristarts TC clone) and the real fhia-1 Goldfinger (USDA Tars clone) both grow great for me. Very fast growers. In pots they do ok but in ground they are amazing.

Rootbound in 1 gal pots they wouldn't get over a couple feet.
In 5 gal pots they get 5-6'
I've never had them in any larger pots.
In ground they get around 10'. My favorite tasting variety.

They also do not brown when cut like other bananas so if you like banana pudding, this is your banana! 3 day old banana pudding leftovers still have fresh looking and tasting nanners in it.

Can you show us a photo? Are they growing in good conditions? (ie full sun, good soil, adequate water and fertilizer...)

If they have been in the ground for that long, something is wrong. You need to figure that out to keep from making the same mistake with the next plants.
Please post some pictures of the plants. And how much fertilizer have they been given? What is your soil composition and ph level if you can test it?

I doubt it's the soil. I have 12 plants in a row, #2 and #11 are the only ones not growing.
Sandy loam soil and I fertilize with 10-10-10 once a month and 1/4 cup urea, 1/2 cup pot ash per 5 gallons of water every 2 weeks. Per plant (smaller plants get smaller dosage) I'll try to get a pic later. Right now it's just a 12" trimmed stem

Years ago I had a young plant get hit hard by a freeze
It also took a while to turn on. Kind of wondering if this is the case with these

I have had a cavendish I was given locally. The owner said it never got over 3' in its life. It was planted in ground. It's been there for 10+ years. It was planted in decent soil. I planted it here and it did horriable all year. Got maybe 3'. It died from freeze that year and the new pup popped up next year and took off. It grew totally normal. I still am not sure what caused it but thought I would share my experience.

If you really feel it will not grow I would kill the growth point and let it shoot a new pup.

Also what was your source? TC or corm. If corm you may be dealing with the same growth point like my cavendish was. Bananas can do strange things sometimes I have found.

Good luck. Goldfinger is deffently worth having.

Both goldfingers were purchased at a local nursery. I've pretty much given up on tc unless it's a special project
