Default pstem inside another pstem

I noticed one of my bananas wasn't leafing very well so I decided to do some cutting to see what was going on... and next to the roll (new growth) was another roll but the 2nd didn't look very green so I think never has made it out of the stem yet. What should I do??? this is weird!
