Re: Potting bananas for the winter
Hey shannon,
What i would and i have done is i dig a root ball slightly smaller than the pot I'm going to put it in, in your case dig a 20 gallon rootball, then that leaves space for a little fresh mix for the plant and still reduces plant shock. I dug a musa basjoo and put it in a 15 gallon and added my mix of Pine bark fines and perlite and it took about a week or two to get adjusted. anymore questions just pst a follow-up alex |

Re: Potting bananas for the winter
Let me add that no matter how you aproach this you will loose most of the leaves to shock. The plants will recover with time and propper care though. Are you overwintering or moving?

Re: Potting bananas for the winter
I watched this video and it was very informative. It basically showed them chopping the corm completely bald and that was fine.
