Default pot size for my new bananas

My wife picked up some Bananas for me for Christmas. Will I be wasting my time transplanting these from their 4" pots to some 8" pots or should I use something larger like a 3 or 5 gal. pots untill spring time here in Central Virginia

thanks
Jim

Default Re: pot size for my new bananas

Personally, I wouldn't want to put them in anything too big if they're indoors, since the risk of drowning them would be too great, IMO. The pot in the picture you posted looks very good, however, just make sure it has lots of drainage, and that you are very careful not to overwater. In the spring and early summer, once outside, you should be able to give it a much larger pot, or put it in the ground.

Good luck,

~Joe
