But seriously tho', I've seen Sabá and Abaca withstand up to 95 mph winds in the Bicol region, the typhoon belt of the Philippines. The Bicol region of the Philippines is the major source of Abaca - Manila hemp.

Still new here, check in all the time, don't post much, could tell you how to grow hostas, just not going to work for most of you, if you'd like to try my way throw them in the ground in a shaded area, walk outside as my wife does and there they are,

I don't have any idea about the ph of my soil or how to "tc" a plant. I love to landscape my yard.

Being one of the stupid, who actually dares to sometimes ask questions, I must say I really appreciate the friendly advice and atmosphere I get at Bananas.org! I've been growing plants for almost two years now (not much compared to most of you), but it is truly addicting, especially fast growing tropicals like bananas where you can see changes almost daily.

I'll be the first to say New Jersey sucks, and I'd kill to be in South Florida right now, like many members here, however the added challenge of keeping everything alive or dormant over the winter is fun for me. In South Florida you put it in the ground and your pretty much good to go!

Two years ago I couldn't tell one plant from another. Now I'm getting quite a green thumb, with much credit due to you folks at this forum who continually offer new advice and insights. My tropical collection is continuing to expand and thrive, and as I mentioned before, I'm really looking forward to the offer of the Siam Red from Ty and Brian! This will be my first rare plant, and I'm quite confident it will do very well up here in the Garden State (Tollbooth State)! Thanks again!
