I CALL FOUL !!!!!!
Nanaman has TWO pups!!!! Congrats on the color. Mine is still all green but about the same. I'm too scared to put it in any direct sun so maybe that's why. Thanks again Brian. Terry |

Re: Post ONLY if getting "Siam Red" from Agri-Starts
Thanks Terry, I just like to push the envelope as far as sunlight goes, usually after 2/3 days, the plant adjusts to it & really starts to take off. Besides, as you pointed out, that 2nd. pup is my backup plan. Ha!

Temps going up here in Bethesda, I'll put plants out tomorrow in the shade and see how the Siam Ruby starts to colour up.
Brian if your looking in I have a thread in 'other plants' that would benefit from your expert attention . Thanks Later Steve

Re: Post ONLY if getting "Siam Red" from Agri-Starts
I set one out in full sun and it is looking much like your photo above. It's good to see the red coloration coming in. I have seen a few with more streaking but all in all they seem to be turning red.

Re: Post ONLY if getting "Siam Red" from Agri-Starts
Mine is a about a leaf behind that nice one , a little leaf burn from too much sun , my fault. It's in shade for the afternoon now , it just gets morning and late afternoon sun and is happier.Mine also has that little pup thing growing at the side , I guess they all do. I hope the little pup is dividable at some point.
Later Steve

Man those pics are starting to look good! Can't wait for mine to get here, but since I ordered on the very last day of the offer I may have to keep waiting a bit! It'll be worth it I'm sure. Keep posting more pics!
Thanks, ~Joe |

Gonna pot it now I guess and get it in full sun asap, at least for a couple of hours a day. Thanks again Brian! ~Joe |

My replacement arrived today. The apparently frozen one only hung in there about a week. This one looks great. Thanx.

Anna, Why not email Brian and tell him what happened. He said he was going to guarantee the product, and it included protection from shipping mishandling. He appears to be very upfront guy. I'm sure he'll work something out with you. If this happened to me, that's what I would do. So far, I've been lucky. I got mine with all the leaves bent and the pot was even cracked. And I was in Walnut Creek, CA when it arrived in Seattle WA. A week later, I was back and saw the condition of the plant. I now have it with me in Walnut Creek(hand carried it with my miniature guavas) and last week, I saw a hair of a leaf trying to push thru. Today, the leaf almost 2 inches long and it looks like it wants to grow! Chong |

Re: Post ONLY if getting "Siam Red" from Agri-Starts
Hi Chong,
I did write/send pics to Brian. I was just hoping that the plant would make it. It really tried to. Brian was great, and did say he would send a new one. That is great about yours! I hope it continues to grow! They sure are beautiful plants! |

Re: Post ONLY if getting "Siam Red" from Agri-Starts
Sorry to hear about your banana. Great to hear you are going to get another. I've been really worried that mine would not make it(being so new to the plant growing world). So far all seems well and I am finally starting to see some red begin to show. Can't wait for a few more months then maybe I'll feel a little more confident that I will not kill it. Would love to see others to know that mine is progressing the way it should. Good luck to all.

Re: Post ONLY if getting "Siam Red" from Agri-Starts
Mine showed up pretty beaten up as well, with a bent pseudostem and burnt leaves. Since then, I've repotted it, and it has straightened its pseudostem and been growing nicely. I even have a pup, like several others do. It is, however, still very green, with not even a hint of red showing yet.
