This is my first time in planting bananas. I planted a banana corm 2 weeks before. I cut its roots and it was looking good. Watering once every 2 or 3 days. Now it is getting black. Do you think it is going to die.

The first phote is when i palnted it before 2 weeks

Thank you

I never ever water new plants unless the soil is dust. The corm has more than enough moisture and energy for it to thrive. When I figured that out I stopped murdering them.

It's normal for the old cut stem to die back so I wouldn't worry about that.
As long as the soil is well draining over watering shouldn't be a problem either.
Warm soil temperature is ideal.

From my experience they start growing after 2 weeks or so.

Here is a African Rhino Horn Plantain corm I planted 16 days ago and it's just now starting to grow.

Varieties I'm Growing

From Corm/Pup
Dwarf Cavendish ○ Super Dwarf Cavendish ○ Grand Nain ○ Niņo ○ Manzano ○ Raja Puri ○ Tall Namwah ○ Blue Java ○ 1000 Fingers ○ Praying Hands ○ Orinoco ○ Variegated Florida ○ PR Red ○ California Gold ○ FHIA-03 Sweetheart

Puerto Rican Dwarf Plantain ○ African Rhino Horn

From TC
Truly Tiny ○ Manzano ○ "Blue Java" ○ Dwarf Namwah ○ Thai Black ○ Veinte Cohol
